NEOSS serves as a strategic coordination initiative for South Africa’s Earth observations (SA-GEO), satellite navigations (SA-GSN), and communications (SA-GSC) communities. Established by the DSI and hosted by the CSIR, its primary objective is to promote enhanced access and utilisation of information and data, for progressive socio-economic development and benefit.
NEOSS actively endeavours to bridge the gap between national and global initiatives, connect the realms of science and society, and facilitate collaboration amongst decision-makers, users and providers. Through these initiatives, NEOSS contributes to shaping a more interconnected and mutually beneficial landscape, advancing EO and space science, and innovation, for the benefit of society.
