1st National Space Conference

2023 NSC

Space for Inclusive Growth

The event is organised by the National Earth Observations and Space Secretariat (NEOSS) and the South African National Space Agency (SANSA), an initiative and entity of the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), in collaboration with key national partners such as the South African Air Force (SAAF).

There are numerous opportunities for space to aid modern society in resolving the most pressing issues such as water scarcity, food insecurity, environmental disasters and the energy crisis. South Africa’s space sector is still growing and producing products and services that will benefit the entire country. To encourage inclusive growth, it is essential to constantly look for solutions that are appropriately suited to regional needs, raise awareness, and stimulate collaboration.

The NSC aims to advance knowledge and information about space and Earth observation applications, operations, products, services, as well as how to use them for better decision-making and the advancement of society, economy, and the protection of the environment. More information about the NSC can be accessed at https://www.spaceconference.co.za as well as presentations.
